Travel in Thailand

It is said that “life is like a cup of tea—only an empty cup can contain more good tea, similarly, only an empty heart can hold endless joy and affection”. Northern Thailand is an ideal place for emptying ourselves, where we will forget all the sadness and the time. We can appreciate the flowers, smell the fragrance, taste tea and read books.
It is the first self-drive journey for my families to travel to Chiang Mai in the Spring Festival in 2015. 13 days was gradually slipping away, during which we hoped that the days could become slower and the sunshine could become warmer. It was the impulsive travel to Northern Thailand that made me love the Thailand.
        Day1: Kunming-Mohan Port
Day2: Mohan Port Boten Port - Chiang Rai
Day3: Chiang Rai - Chiang Mai

The first day: we started the journey from Kunming at 7:00 am and arrived at Mohan Port at 5:00 pm. During the nearly 10 hours journey, we were tired but with joy.

Day2: we drove across Laos after passing the border in lines in the morning, and arrived in Chiang Rai at 7:00 pm. We just caught up with the night market, which made us forget the tiredness.

After arriving in Chiang Rai, we visited the temple. There are many temples in Thailand, but considering the limited time, we only visited the Wat LungKhun. The architectural appearance and internal structure of the Wat LungKhun are very different from the glittering temples which are often seen in Thailand, from which we can feel the splendor and the beauty of its unique style. When the hot sun was high in the sky, we stopped the car by the roadside and saw the spotless white temple, which was so fantastic under the blue sky. The snow-white roof, walls and foundation and the shining silver light by glasses embedded in walls made the temple a heaven in the world. I was immediately overcome by the temple.

In front of the temple is a shallow pond with blue water where a few fishes are swimming freely. I guess that the design is to express the mercy spirit of the Buddhism and add some grace to the solemn Wat LungKhu.

Day3:The Weekend Night Market of Chiang Mai: the Night Market is the most famous, the most busy and the biggest night market in Chiang Mai, from Thapea Gate in the east to the Wat Phar Sing in the west, which nearly crossing the whole ancient city. Most of the goods in the night market are the handicrafts, clothes, decorations and the numerous delicious snacks. There are also many buskers playing pleasant music. All kinds of sounds mixed together make the market extremely busy. Some of the handicrafts in Chiang Mai are also produced in batches, such as the T-shirt printed with panda and elephant, all kinds of wooden and paper lanterns, the soap flowers, fragrance lightings, etc., which can be seen at many booths. But there is a large portion of the handcrafts are completely original, such as all kinds of woodcarvings and little ornaments and the like.

Piano Prince--Richard Clayderman

Richard Clayderman born in Philippe French,28 December 1953 in Paris) is a French pianist who has released numerous albums including the compositions of Paul de Senneville and Olivier Toussaint, instrumental renditions of popular music, rearrangements of movie soundtracks, ethnic music, and easy-listening arrangements of popular works of classical music.

Clayderman learned piano from his father, a piano teacher. At the age of twelve, he was accepted into the Conservatoire de Paris, where he won great acclaim in his later adolescent years. Financial difficulties, precipitated by his father's illness, forestalled a promising career as a classical pianist. So in order to earn a living, he found work as a bank clerk and as an accompanist to contemporary bands. He accompanied French singers such as Johnny Hallyday, Thierry Le Luron, and Michel Sardou.
In 1976, he was invited by Olivier Toussaint, a French record producer, and his partner Paul de Senneville, to record a gentle piano ballad. De Senneville had composed this ballad as a tribute to his baby daughter, Adeline. The 23-year-old Pagès was auditioned along with 20 other pianists and got the job. "He was an interesting musician with a soft touch and good technique", said Toussaint. "And he looked good, too". Pagès' name was changed to Richard Clayderman (he adopted his great-grandmother's last name to avoid mispronunciation of his real name outside France), and the single took off, selling 22 million copies in 38 countries. It was called "Ballade pour Adeline".

Clayderman has recorded over 1,300 melodies, and has created a new romantic style through a repertoire which combines his trademark originals with classics and pop standards. He has devoted much of his time performing concerts, going as far as playing 200 shows in 250 days. As of 2006, his record sales number at approximately 150 million, and has 267 gold and 70 platinum albums to his credit. He is popular in Asia and is noted by the Guinness Book of World Records as being "the most successful pianist in the world". He lives in Saint-Ouen (near Paris) with his wife Christine, his son Peter, and his daughter Maud.
